Giants Morning Report: Antrel Rolle, Osi Umenyiora, Victor Cruz, More

New York Giants headlines for Wednesday, 2/25.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here is your morning report for this still much too cold for late February Wednesday.

Giants Free Agency

Antrel Rolle may or may not be back with the Giants. He certainly is doing a good job campaigning on social media, however.

Osi Umenyiora does not want to retire. He would like to return to the Giants, but in our poll 57 percent of the 1,900 people who have  voted thus far do not want the Giants to bring back the veteran defensive end.

Paul Schwartz of the New York Post isn't so sure the Giants are interested, either:

There is no doubt the Giants want to add pass-rushing talent, but it is debatable that they believe the 33-year-old Umenyiora, even for one year, is the answer.

Jordan Ranaan of NJ.com offered some free-agent tidbits based on what he heard while covering the NFL Combine. Ranaan said the Giants and cornerback Walter Thurmond could be nearing agreement on another one-year "prove-t" type contract. He also said that offensive lineman James Brewer "is not going to return, no matter the price."

2015 NFL Draft

Interesting tweet here:

It is fair to wonder if "a lot of people" equals "a lot of interest" in Shelton, the 6-foot-2, 339-pound defensive tackle.

SB Nation's Dan Kadar offered eight takeaways from the NFL Combine.

Victor Cruz Update

You know, of course, that Victor Cruz is rehabbing his torn patella tendon. Here is video of him doing some work in a pool.
