Ereck Flowers injury: Flowers leaves game with left leg injury

Rookie left tackle suffers leg injury.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers was helped off the field during the team's first offensive series of the third quarter, apparently unable to put much weight on his left leg. He was eventually carted to the locker room.

Flowers was eventually downgraded to out. Flowers went down after a pass play. The Giants are already missing starting right tackle Marshall Newhouse, and have offensive linemen Geoff Schwartz and Will Beatty on injured reserve.

With Flowers out, Justin Pugh moved to left tackle and Dallas Reynolds took over at left guard.

Flowers missed one game earlier this season with an ankle injury. The 2015 first-round draft pick was spotted leaving MetLife Stadium on crutches and with a walking boot on his left foot.
