The New York Giants continued to shuffle their roster on Wednesday. They placed linebacker J.T, Thomas III and long-snapper Danny Aiken on IR. Linebacker Nico Johnson was added from the practice squad to replace Thomas and Tyler Ott, a Harvard grad who has never played in an NFL game will replace Aiken.
Thomas missed three games earlier this season with an ankle injury and has been playing at less than 100 percent in recent weeks. Aiken played in three games after replacing Zak DeOssie when DeOssie was forced to IR due to a wrist injury. Aiken apparently suffered the thumb injury during practice on Wednesday.
Johnson, 25, has 17 games of NFL experience with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
The Giants now have 21 players on injured reserve including, somewhat ridiculously, two long-snappers.
Thursday Injury Report
Did Not Practice
DE Jason Pierre-Paul (ankle)
S Craig Dahl (concussion)
S Cooper Taylor (concussion)
RT Marshall Newhouse (concussion)
WR/KR Dwayne Harris was limited with back and shoulder injuries. With Dahl and Taylor unlikely to play Sunday, anticipate another roster move to add some emergency depth at that position.
