Good morning, New York Giants fans, and Merry Christmas Eve to those of you celebrating. Here are some headlines for your Thursday morning.
Former Giant Linval Joseph could be the key on defense for the Vikings
Defensive tackle Linval Joseph, who played for the Giants during the first four years of his career, has been an anchor for Minnesota in his second season with the Vikings. He hasn't put up stellar sack numbers like other 3-technique defensive tackles, but he's been a huge run stuffer and is arguably one of the biggest (both figuratively and literally) Pro Bowl snubs. Joseph has been an influential cog on the Minnesota defensive line and is excited to return to action after missing the last three weeks due to a foot injury to play his former team.
"No emotions. I’m just excited to be playing this week and can’t wait to play against my old team," said Joseph, who has missed the last three weeks with a foot injury.
"Linval’s a big, strong, physical defensive tackle," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "He plays on the nose. They feature a nose, a one-technique, a three-technique. He’s on the center most of the time. He’s a big, strong, knock-the-center-back kind of a guy. He takes care of the interior of the line of scrimmage. And he is a good player."
