The New York Jets (8-5) take on the Dallas Cowboys (4-9) in a Saturday night NFL special at AT&T Stadium, also known as "JerryWorld." The last time these two teams faced each other in 2011, Jets kicker Nick Folk -- once a member of the Cowboys -- kicked the game-winning field goal with less than 30 seconds remaining in the contest.
The Jets, who have won their last three games, are led by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Harvard graduate has passed for 930 yards and nine touchdowns, including zero turnovers, in the team's past three victories. The emergence of Chris Ivory at running back has also propelled the Jets, as Ivory leads all AFC running backs in rushing yards, with 914, and is likely on his way to his first career 1,000-yard season. Wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker have had a tremendous impact on New York's offense as well, as the receiving duo is primed to be the franchise's first pair of 1,000-yard receivers in a season since Keyshawn Johnson and Wayne Chrebet in 1998. The defense for the Jets has been dominant under first-year head coach Todd Bowles. Gang Green is at the top of the NFL in rushing defense, as well as in the NFL's top five of total defense.
The Cowboys have been riddled by injuries all season long, and have backup Matt Cassel at the helm. Dallas is coming off a 28-7 loss against the Green Bay Packers. Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant has returned, but the Cowboys are just 29th in the NFL in passing offense. The Cowboys defense, which is in the NFL's top ten, is led by middle linebacker Sean Lee, who leads the team with 105 tackles, and defensive end Demarcus Lawrence, who has five sacks in the past five games.
