Don't tell rookie left tackle Ereck Flowers he's supposed to be sitting out of practice to rest his injured left ankle. First, he would probably turn that angry 6-foot-6, 330-pound glare on you. Second, he would just ignore what you were saying, anyway. After not making it all the way through Monday's game due to his high ankle sprain, Flowers was not supposed to practice Wednesday. He did, in a limited capacity. Flowers practiced again on Thursday as the Giants prepared for the unbeaten Carolina Panthers.
"He's a tough guy now. He wants to go and it's tough not to let him go," head coach Tom Coughlin said on Thursday. "So what you try to do is stay within some kind of limit, maybe 50 percent, but he's going to get those snaps. You think that he wouldn't be able to, but he goes right out and does it."
Here is the Giants' complete injury report from Thursday:
Must Reads
Did Not Practice
LB Devon Kennard (foot)
DT Markus Kuhn (knee)
DE George Selvie (concussion)
WR Dwayne Harris (shoulder)
Limited Practice
LT Ereck Flowers (ankle)
LB J.T. Thomas (ankle)
Kennard has already been ruled out for the third straight week. It also does not sound like Selvie or Kuhn will play on Sunday. Selvie remains in the concussion protocol, and Coughlin said Kuhn is "week-to-week" after being injured Monday night.
Harris was not on Wednesday's injury report, so his addition to the list -- and the fact that he did not practice at all -- is a concern.
