Former New York Giants defensive end Damontre Moore had some interesting comments on his first day of work with his new team, the Miami Dolphins. Miami claimed Moore after the Giants waived him last week when a fight with Cullen Jenkins was the final straw following a series of issues.

"The past is the past," Moore said Wednesday. "It is what it is. I can say I was very immature during my time up there. But I learned from my mistakes and on to better things now.

"I'm in South Beach, baby. Why are we still talking 'bout New York?"

The 2013 third-round pick had difficulty in New York gaining and keeping the trust of the coaching staff. There were reports that he had verbal clashes with coach Tom Coughlin and GM Jerry Reese. Per NJ Advance Media, Moore said "I don't know" when asked if had run-ins with Coughlin and Reese.

There is no reason to wish Moore any ill-will. He is 23, and hopefully his experience in New York will be something he does learn and grow from. If he can, he could succeed in Miami or elsewhere.
