Giants' injury report: Devon Kennard and Robert Ayers sit, Ereck Flowers limited in practice

Which Giants practiced heading into Monday Night Football?

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Ordinarily, with the New York Giants' revamped practice schedule, nobody would have practiced today. However, since they play on Monday, today is essentially Thursday and the Giants did practice. Today's injury report is as follows.

  • Robert Ayers - (Neck)
  • Devon Kennard - DNP (Foot/Hamstring)
  • Brandon Meriweather - Limited (Knee)
  • Marshall Newhouse - Limited (Back)
  • Ereck Flowers - Limited (Ankle)
The addition of Robert Ayers to the injury report is a surprise, and a concerning one considering the waiving of Damontre Moore. Ayers had a monster game against the Jets, and with Miami left tackle Brandon Albert has been playing well and the Giants might be in for a long night if Ayers isn't able to play. Defensive coordiantor Steve Spagnuolo told reporters he wasn't concerned about Ayers' availability.

While nobody has been ruled out of the Giants' Monday night tilt against the Miami Dolphins, it seems likely that Devon Kennard -- who was out last week and hasn't practiced yet this week -- won't be making the trip to Miami. It remains to be seen whether Ereck Flowers will be able to tough it through yet another ankle injury and play, but don't be surprised if Justin Pugh is protecting Eli Manning's blindside. If Newhouse plays, the Giants will need to decide which two of Dallas Reynolds, John Jerry, and Bobby Hart they want at the guard positions.
