The Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals square off tonight in a battle of two NFC teams primed for a run to the playoffs. The Vikings (8-4) are led by star running back Adrian Peterson, who is the NFL leader in rushing yards this season, with 1,182 on 245 carries. Last week, however, Peterson was held to just 18 yards on the ground against the Seattle Seahawks in a 38-7 Minnesota loss. In each of Minnesota's four defeats, Peterson hasn't had more than 100 rushing yards, so stopping him will be a major facet of Arizona's game plan.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals (10-2) are coming off a huge 27-3 road victory against the St. Louis Rams and have won six games in a row. Quarterback Carson Palmer has thrown 29 touchdown passes this season, which is one shy of Kurt Warner's 2008 team record (30). Rookie running back David Johnson, who has nine touchdowns on the season, will get the start for comeback revelation Chris Johnson, who was placed on injured reserve due to a fractured tibia.

Both the Cardinals and Vikings have top 10 passing defenses in the NFL. Both teams have given up just 17 passing touchdowns, good to be tied for ninth place in the entire league. In terms of average yards per game, each team has given up less than 230 yards each contest. The Vikings are without former Giant Linval Joseph and star safety Harrison Smith for this game, so the Cardinals' already dangerous passing attack might give them a slight advantage in tonight's matchup.
