Jason Pierre-Paul, Giants continue to work toward return

JPP practices for second straight day.

Jason Pierre-Paul practiced Thursday for the second consecutive day, with the New York Giants hoping that the defensive end can be ready to make his 2015 season debut Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pierre-Paul, of course, is returning after losing his right index finger and suffering other injuries to his right hand in a July 4 fireworks accident.

One of the issue for Pierre-Paul is to find a custom made glove or another way to protect the hand while he plays.

"They're working on that all the time," said head coach Tom Coughlin.

Coughlin also talked about the stance and other things Pierre-Paul has to adjust to.

"It's different. These are the things that have to be worked through. What he wears on the hand, how we can adjust that to make him more comfortable, how he can use it," Coughlin said. "I was thinking of putting a baseball bat over there myself, all those things have to be worked through so that he's comfortable and he's ready to go. He did use the hand yesterday and got some contact work. So that part of it doesn't appear to be an issue, but he hasn't put it down yet."

Here is the complete injury report from Thursday's practice.
