The New York Giants Wednesday officially announced the return of two players who had previously been let go by the team. Tight end Matt LaCosse and safety Cooper Taylor are back with the team as members of the 10-man practice squad.

LaCosse was waived/injured after suffering a hamstring inury on the first day of training camp. Taylor a third-year player and fifth-round pick by the Giants in 2013, played in three games for New York this season before being released.

The Giants dropped offensive lineman Adam Gettis from the practice squad to make room. They only had nine players on the practice squad roster after bringing linebacker James Morris to the 53-man roster last week.

There may be some shuffling coming on the 53-man roster, as well. We find out later today how serious the injury is to tight end Larry Donnell, and with Will Tye the only healthy tight end the Giants may need to add either LaCosse or Jerome Cunningham to the 53-man roster. If Jason Pierre-Paul is cleared to play the Giants will also need to make a roster move to clear a spot for him.
