The New York Giants announced the news on Thursday that offensive tackle Will Beatty would not play this season due to a rotator cuff injury that will require surgery. They did, however, get some good news on the injury front as it relates to their readiness for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots.
Offensive guards Justin Pugh and Geoff Schwartz both returned to practice. Pugh was found to have an illness rather than a concussion, and practiced in limited fashion Thursday. Schwartz, after skipping practice Wednesday to rest his the troublesome ankle he broke last year, practiced in full.
Cornerback Prince Amukamara (pectoral) practiced on a limited basis, but reports seem to indicate that Amukamara is unlikely to return against New England.
It looks like the Giants will also once again be without tight end Larry Donnell (neck), and linebackers Uani 'Unga (neck) and J.T. Thomas III (ankle) again this week. None of those players practiced on Thursday.
