Adrien Robinson working out for Giants today?

The New York Giants will hold their weekly Tuesday player workouts today, and a familiar face will reportedly be among the players in attendance.

The Giants, of course, have a need for a blocking tight end following Monday's announcement that Daniel Fells will be placed on season-ending injured reserve due to a staph infection that developed in his chronically injured ankle. Larry Donnell and Jerome Cunningham are liabilities as blockers, and Cunningham has also been dealing with his own knee injury. Will Tye is an unknown at this point.

Robinson spent three seasons with the Giants, catching just five passes in 19 games. The Giants cut him at the end of the preseason, instead keeping Cunningham. Robinson is, however, a more proven blocker than any tight end on the roster and his learning curve on offense would not be that steep since he was in training camp.

Victor Cruz update

The Giants had no news on wide receiver Victor Cruz and his injured calf on Monday, but that doesn't mean no roster move will be made there to supplement the wide receiver spot. If the Giants are going to add a wide receiver or place Cruz on IR/Designated To Return today would likely be the day they do so.

Stay tuned. We will update you with any further roster developments as the day goes along, including the full workout list if we can get it.
