When he was finally able to re-direct Wednesday's press conference away from discussing the topic of Jason Pierre-Pauland back to the New Orleans Saints, head coach Tom Coughlin offered some updates on the New York Giants' injury situation.
Coughlin said that wide receiver Victor Cruz (calf) and cornerback Prince Amukamara (pectoral) will not play Sunday against the Saints. That is pretty standard, and prettymuch expected. Otherwise, there seemed to be some good news.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who has not practiced the past couple of weeks due to his hamstring issues, was a full particpant in Wednesday's practice.
Coughlin also said that offensive lineman Will Beatty, who came off PUP last week after rehabbing a torn pectoral muscle, will advance to scout team work and will wear pads for the first time this week.
Linebacker Jon Beason (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Neither did guard Geoff Schwartz, on the injury report with soreness in the ankle he broke last season. Schwartz is expected to practice Thursday. Owa Odighizuwa (hamstring) also did not practice.
Significantly, WR Rueben Randle, DE Robert Ayers, LB Devon Kennard and LB Jonathan Casillas did not appear on the injury report for the first time in several weeks.
