Former New York Giants wide receiver Corey Washington is back in the NFL. Multiple media reports indicate Washington will join the practice squad of the Washington Redskins.

Washington tweeted the news that he was back in the league earlier on Monday morning.

A fan favorite after a brilliant 2014 preseason, Washington played little in 2014. An undrafted free agent from Division II Newberry College, Washington caught just five passes for 52 yards and one touchdown.

The Giants cut Washington at the end of the preseason, keeping veteran Preston Parker and rookie sixth-round pick Geremy Davis as their final two receivers. Parker, of course, was cut after two games. The Giants have since added former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Myles White to their 53-man roster. White made a critical special teams play in Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
