The New York Giants did not get good news on the injury front Wednesday. First came word that Odell Beckham Jr. has swelling in his hamstring. Now, ESPN is reporting that cornerback Prince Amukamara has a pectoral injury and could be out Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Amukamara has played well for the Giants through five games. He has an interception, a forced fumble (which he recovered) and seven passes defensed. His physical run support has also helped the Giants, and he is second on the team in tackles with 32.

Without Amukamara, Jayron Hosley would likely start at one corner opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Amukamara, 26, is in his fifth season. He has only played a full 16-game season one time, missing at least three game in three of his four seasons. Amukamara is a free agent at the end of this season.
