If the New York Giants had practiced on Wednesday, which they did not, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would not have participated, Giants coach Tom Coughlin told Philadelphia media during a Wednesday conference call
"All we can do is hold onto fact that he’s a very competitive young man and, if it's at all possible, he’ll be ready to play," Coughlin said. "The trainers think he's making good progress. Hopefully we'll get some work in before the end of the week."
Per Jordan Ranaan of NJ Advance Media, Beckham "has swelling in his hamstring area but still hopes to play" Monday night when the 3-2 Giants face the 2-3 Philadelphia Eagles in a key NFC East game. The hamstring, of course, is always a concern with Beckham, who missed four games last season.
Victor Cruz update
It doesn't look like Cruz will be on the field vs. the Eagles. Coughlin said Cruz, dealing with a calf injury, is still unable to practice. Coughlin said Cruz is "working indoors, primarily" and "has not been cleared to begin on the field."
