Philadelphia Eagles in turmoil? Chip Kelly reportedly expresses interest in leaving

[UPDATE: It would appear that Chip Kelly has won his power play to maintain control of personnel with the Eagles.]

The fact that the personnel staff will report to Chip Kelly is a pretty massive piece of power. He already had final say over Eagles' 53.

Are the Philadelphia Eagles imploding? There are now reports that head coach Chip Kelly has expressed interest in getting out of his contract in the wake of the firing of personnel man Tom Gamble, whom Kelly apparently supported.

First came this:

Plugged-in league source senses there could be "something big" going on in Philly in the aftermath of Tom Gamble's departure.

Then came the speculation asking whether or not teams in need of a head coach, most notably the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, would be willing to mortgage their drafts to trade for Kelly as their coach:

IF (big if) the Eagles ever sought draft picks in exchange for Chip Kelly, the new team would be so depleted he wouldn't go.

Not that long ago the Eagles were the defending NFC East champs and sported a 9-3 record. Now? No playoffs, a fractured front office and maybe no head coach.
