Amari Cooper is one of the most well known prospects in the country. He was a Heisman finalist and broke Jordan Matthews' record for most receptions in the SEC. He was nigh unstoppable in pretty much every game he played. Just how high will he go in the draft and how do his skills translate?
Pros
- One of the best route runners in this class
- Superb body control
- Relatively sure-handed
- Cannot be pressed
- Adept at yards after the catch
Cons
- Does not have elite measurables
- Did not have to make too many contested catches
- Not a great run blocker
Does He Fit With The Giants?
Clearly. I think with Odell Beckham, everybody learned the value of great route running and Cooper is one of the best at it. His superior movement skills allow him to sit in zones and find open creases with ease, and his powerful lower body allows him good yards after the catch. He would ideally fit as a flanker or "Z" position as a possession receiver at the next level. Is he a No. 1 caliber receiver? Absolutely and adding him with Odell Beckham at the "X" and Victor Cruz (or Rueben Randle) at the "Y" would be the stuff of nightmares.

Final Thoughts
For me, Cooper is one of the top five talents in this draft, and it seems like most others share that view (at least for right now). He is not an elite athlete and so I feel his stock will drag a bit as we go through the off-season process and through the combine. However, make no mistake, his strengths do not lie with flat out beating someone with speed. They lie with being too quick to press and enough knowledge of positioning himself well so that his opponents cannot touch him. It will be an upset if he is not a top 10 selection.
