Let's start off your Tuesday morning by updating where things stand with the New York Giants search for a defensive coordinator to replace the ousted Perry Fewell.
We learned Monday that the Giants were asking permission from the Baltimore Ravens to speak with Steve Spagnuolo about the possibility of returning to the role he filled for them in 2007 and 2008. While no report has surfaced that permission has been granted, the New York Post is stating that Spagnuolo is expected to interview this week.
Monday night we also found out that Washington Redskins defensive backs coach Raheem Morris won't be getting the job.
We also know that Pepper Johnson interviewed on Monday.
There has been speculation that Jim Schwartz could be a candidate if he leaves his post as defensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills. It seems like that is going to happen, as ESPN reported that Schwartz won't return to the Bills due to "differing defensive philosophies" with newly-hired head coach Rex Ryan.
We tried to squash the 'bring John Fox back as defensive coordinator' talk Monday night when news broke that Fox was out as coach of the Denver Broncos. This morning we learn that the Chicago Bears will interview Fox for their vacant head-coaching job.
