Peter King mock draft gives Iowa OL Brandon Scherff to Giants

Of course it does.

Esteemed NFL analyst Peter king of Monday Morning Quarterback has weighed in with his final full 2015 NFL mock draft, and King has joined the legions of those who believe the New York Giants will select Iowa offensive tackle Brandon Scherff with the ninth overall pick.

King writes:

G-Men have a history of loving Midwestern offensive linemen high in the draft. Of the last six offensive linemen they've drafted in the top 40, five have been from Midwestern schools (four Big Ten, one Notre Dame). Scherff is the kind of versatile mauler the Giants could use inside for a couple of years before moving him outside, or they could keep him inside if Justin Pugh and Will Beatty are doing the job at tackle.

SI.com's Greg Bedard did a :what teams should do' mock draft, and also gave the Giants Scherff:

Long shot to be a left tackle at the next level but should at least be an excellent right tackle or guard. The Giants have so many question marks on the line that Scherff's versatility is a plus. Throw him out there with the rest, and put your best five guys on the field.

For what it's worth, former Giant David Diehl has also mocked Scherff to the Giants.

There really isn't much more that can be said about Scherff being mocked to the Giants at this point. It's predictable, it's tired, it's been discussed too many times and there is little to be gained by going over it again. Still, the reality is that Scherff to the Giants remains the consensus choice.
