Giants at Lions: McAdoo says offense is 'looking forward'

Offensive coordinator turns the page on the preseason in press conference leading up to season opener.

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

New York Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo does not want to talk about his team's preseason offensive struggles any longer.

"The preseason is over," McAdoo told assembled media on Friday. "We realized that we weren't as productive as we wanted to be with our first group, but we are not looking in the rear view mirror now. We are looking forward."

That is good, of course, because with the season-opener vs. the Detroit Lions looming McAdoo's starting offense doesn't have much to look back at. A 73-yard touchdown run by Rashad Jennings in one game and a long drive for a touchdown in a two-minute drill vs. the New York Jets. That's it.

McAdoo, and everyone connected with the Giants, has to hope the offense has better results Monday night.
