What It Means
Both teams are 1-2 and while the season will only be one-fourth completed for them at the end of the game the outcome is critical. The losing team won't be out of eventual playoff contention, but the winner will be in a much better position to at least contend for a wild-card berth.
For the Giants, Sunday's victory over the Houston Texans left a fragile team feeling much more confident and upbeat. If that does not carry over into a victory Thursday night all of those good feelings will disappear.
