The New York Giants had hoped Jon Beason would recover sufficiently from his foot injury to play Thursday night against the Washington Redskins. It does not appear that will be the case, however, as the Giants have listed the middle linebacker as 'doubtful' for for Thursday's NFC East tilt.
Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and linebacker Devon Kennard, both dealing with hamstring injuries, are out. Beckham practiced Tuesday for the first time during the regular season and hopes to return Oct. 5 when the Giants host the Atlanta Falcons.
Cornerback Zack Bowman (quad), offensive tackle Charles Brown (shoulder) and offensive lineman James Brewer (back) are listed as questionable. Punter Steve Weatherford (ankle) is probable.
If Beason can't play, it seems likely that Jameel McClain would once again slide into the middle and Mark Herzlich would take over as the SAM linebacker.
