The New York Giants will be without starting middle linebacker Jon Beason on Sunday when they face the Houston Texans. Beason had hoped to play despite having aggravated the foot injury that knocked him out of the preseason during last Sunday's game vs. the Arizona Cardinals.
Beason was supposed to meet with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson on Friday. There has been no word about the results of that meeting. The question now becomes whether this is a one-game absence for Beason, or if Dr. Anderson will provide bad news that would leave Beason shelved for a longer period of time.
Here is the complete injury report.
Out -- LB Jon Beason (foot), WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring), LB Devon Kennard (hamstring)
Questionable -- P Steve Weatherford (ankle), OL James Brewer (back), OT Charles Brown (shoulder)
Probable -- DT Markus Kuhn (ankle)
No word yet on how the Giants will replace Beason. Perhaps when Tom Coughlin speaks to the media today we will find out what the plan is.
