There has been speculation that middle linebacker Jon Beason saw his season come to an end Sunday when he re-injured the foot he broke during OTAs. The Giants have yet to make a roster move with Beason, however, and all head Tom Coughlin was willing to commit to Wednesday was that Beason would not practice today.

Could he possibly play Sunday against the Houston Texans?

"I wouldn't put anything past this guy," Coughlin said.

It seems highly improbable, however, that Beason could be sufficiently recovered in time to play Sunday. More likely, the Giants are probably facing the reality of being without their defensive signal-caller for several weeks.

Coughlin also squashed speculation from various media outlets that Odell Beckham Jr. would make his professional debut this week. Coughlin said the team's first-round pick, who did not play at all in the preseason and is still battling a lingering hamstring issue, will not take any snaps this week. Beckham will continue to work with trainers on the side.

Here is the Giants' full injury report for Wednesday.

Did Not Practice

LB Jon Beason (foot/ankle), WR Odell Beckham (hamstring), LB Devon Kennard (hamstring), P Steve Weatherford (ankle).

Limited Practice

James Brewer (back), Charles Brown (shoulder).
