The New York Giants trail the Arizona Cardinals, 10-7, at halftime of their game at MetLife Stadium.
The Cardinals drove 80 yards in 11 plays for a score on their first possession of the game. Jonathan Dwyer went in from one yard out on third down after a 9-yard pass to Larry Ftizgerald originally ruled a touchdown was overturned with the ball being placed at one 1-yard line. The Giants were penalized twice on the drive, a 15-yard late hit penalty against Jameel McClain negating a second-and-17 for the Cardinals at the Giants 29-yard line, and an illegal contact by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie on Fitzgerald giving the Cardinals first and goal at the Giants 9-yard line.
The Giants responded by driving to Arizona's 29-yard line before Eli Manning had a pass for Victor Cruz bounce off the shoulder pad of an Arizona lineman and end up intercepted by Cardinals linebacker Sam Acho. The Cardinals that into three more points, driving 10 plays and 40 yards in 5:07. Chandler Catanzaro made a 49-yard field goal to give Arizona a 10-0 lead with 1:31 left in the first quarter.
The Giants finally got on the board in the second quarter. Taking over at their own 10-yard line the Giants drove 13 plays and 90 yards in 7:13 to get on the board with 37 seconds left in the half. The score came when Rueben Randle made a spectacular one-handed catch on a fade from Manning for a 7-yard score.
