Would you be OK with Ray Rice getting another chance in the NFL as a member of the New York Giants? Mark Herzlich certainly would not. Rice is currently suspended indefinitely and out of the league.
"I wouldn't welcome him," Herzlich said. "I've known him before. I've known him as a good guy before. But at the same time, it's kind of an accepting defense, like 'You know what? All right.' ... There is no room for it, to be honest.
"I take, first of all, breaking the law very seriously and I don't want to surround myself with people who are going to do it. [Domestic violence is] much different than a victim-less crime, in my opinion. There is a victim. There is intention. There is a purpose. That purpose is to hurt somebody else. There is no place for that in the locker room."
Jameel McClain is a former Rice teammate in Baltimore.
"I’ve known Ray since college, so I’ve known him to be a great guy, and that’s what I know."
Giants head coach Tom Coughlin.
"Very troubling, very tragic, no place for it in society, and no place for it in the National Football League."
Eli Manning on Rice being released.
"I think it was probably the right thing to be done. I think, obviously, as players in the NFL and the league, you have to take a strong stance against domestic violence and the NFL has done that."
Keep it civil, but let's discuss. Also, vote in the poll.
