Giants Practice Squad: OT Mark Asper added

Giants sign offensive tackle Mark Asper to their practice squad.

The New York Giants have added an eighth player to their 2014 practice squad, signing offensive tackle Mark Asper. Asper signed with the Giants on July 29 and played in four of the five preseason games. He was released in the final cutdown on Saturday.

In those four games, Asper played 122 snaps and earned a Pro Football Focus grade of -1.2. The 6-foot-6, 319-pound 28-year-old played one game for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2012 and appeared in six games for the Buffalo Bills in 2013.

The other players on the practice squad are running back Michael Cox, offensive tackle Nick Becton, cornerbacks Bennett Jackson and Chandler Fenner, linebacker Dan Fox, defensive end Jordan Stanton and wide receiver Julian Talley. Becton, who was with the San Diego Chargers, is the only player on the practice squad who was not with the Giants in training only player on the practice squad who was not with the Giants in training camp.

The Giants can add two more players to the practice squad.
