The New York Giants and New England Patriots are tied, 10-10, at halftime of their preseason game Thursday night at MetLife Stadium.
The Giants' first-team offense did not impress in its cameo appearance. Working against Patriots' reserves Giants' starters ran eight plays and gained 23 yards. Eli Manning went 1-for-4 for 0 yards. Rueben Randle dropped a pass and had a mis-communication with Manning. Kellen Davis caught a third-and-2 pass but could not gain any yardage. Not what the Giants had hoped for.
Peyton Hillis carried 10 times for 37 yards and one touchdown, Andre Williams had five carries for 44 yards and Rashad Jennings carried three times for 20 yards. Backup quarterback Ryan Nassib went 3-of-6 for 53 yards.
Injury News
Mario Manningham left early with a calf injury, likely ending his chance of making the 53-man roster. Head coach Tom Coughlin had said Manningham would get one more opportunity to show the Giants he belonged on the team.
Mark Herzlich was a late scratch for the Giants with a shoulder injury.
