While we wait for Friday night's New York Giants-New York Jets game let's look at five Giants players who could use strong performances in their bids to make the 53-man roster.
Mario Manningham -- The veteran wide receiver has lost a lot of ground to Marcus Harris, Corey Washington and even Preston Parker in his bid for a second tour of duty with the Giants. This is really Manningham's best -- and maybe last -- chance to show the Giants he can be a productive player for them.
Corey Washington -- The 6-foot-4 wide receiver from Division II Newberry College has touchdown catches in all three preseason games thus far, all fourth-quarter catches against players not likely to be on NFL rosters in the regular season. He could well get an opportunity earlier in Friday's game.
Brandon Mosley -- It seems like only a matter of time before Mosley is replaced in the starting lineup by second-round pick Weston Richburg. A strong game from Mosley Friday at right guard could at least delay the inevitable.
John Conner -- From the first day of training camp it has seemed like the Giants have shown a preference for Henry Hynoski at fullback. Conner is running out of time to change that.
Charles James -- The second-year cornerback is probably the Giants' sixth cornerback right now. He needs to convince the Giants they have to keep him. His best chance is making plays on special teams.
