Adding injury to the insult of the way the New York Giants played Saturday night during their preseason game vs. the Indianapolis Colts, the Giants lost several players to injuries.

  • Starting cornerback Prince Amukamara left early in the game with a groin injury.
  • Reserve safety Cooper Taylor was carted off with a toe injury.
  • Reserve offensive tackle Charles Brown suffered a shoulder injury.
  • Defensive tackle Markus Kuhn injured an elbow.

Amukamara started all 16 games for the Giants last season and is the team's starter opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Amukamara said after the game he does not believe his injury is serious. Brown has been used as a starter while Beatty works his way back into shape. Taylor and Kuhn provide depth at their respective positions. More on these injuries when it becomes available after the game.

On the positive side, left tackle Will Beatty and cornerback Trumaine McBride made their preseason debuts after undergoing offseason surgery.

[Update: Here is some info from ESPN's Dan Graziano.]

The Giants are reportedly "not optimistic" about the prognosis for Taylor.
