Well, let's just call that an ugly half of preseason football from the New York Giants. The Giants trail the Indianapolis Colts, 20-0, at halftime of Saturday's game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Offensive progress? Not so much. Eli Manning went 1-for-7 for six yards. At least he completed a pass this week after going 0-for-2 against Pittsburgh the week before. Manning did have a 51-yard pass to Victor Cruz, who fumbled, The play was wiped out by an Indianapolis penalty, anyway. Rashad Jennings carried seven times for 17 yards. The Giants lost one fumble and had at least two other turnovers negated by penalties.

The Giants were penalized six times for 45 yards. The Colts five times for 30. There were also numerous declined penalties as the NFL's preseason flag-fest continued.

"I'm not frustrated. We're not frustrated. We're working out the kinks," Cruz told Bruce Beck in a sideline interview.

Hakeem Nicks had five catches for 53 yards for Indianapolis. The ex-Giant also had a 35-yard reception wiped out when he ended the play by committing a foolish taunting penalty.

The Giants lost cornerback Prince Amukamara with a groin injury. We will pass along more info on that when we have it.
