Let's take a closer look at what to expect from 2013 first-round pick Justin Pugh this season.

With just a couple weeks left before the Giants report to training camp, Big Blue View continues a look at the 90-man roster the team will take to East Rutherford on July 21.Today, let's get to know offensive tackle Justin Pugh.

2013 Season In Review

When the Giants selected Justin Pugh in the first round of last year's draft, few expected the Syracuse alum to have an immediate impact on the offensive line. Pugh was to sit behind long-time starter David Diehl, learn the offense and be implemented into the starting five in 2014. When injuries ravaged the Giants' offensive line, Pugh was forced to start from day one.

The result was one few saw coming. Pugh had arguably the best season of any tackle selected in the draft and continued to improve throughout the year. While questions were raised about whether Pugh's 'short arms' made him more suited for guard, the 23-year-old showed he's more than capable of starting at tackle.

2014 Season Outlook

The same should be expected from Pugh in 2014. While there has been some talk of moving him around the line, the coaching staff has made it clear they view Pugh as the team's right tackle of the future. If the Giants are to completely 'fix' an offensive line that was in shambles last year, Pugh will be a big piece in doing that. He's young, talented and could be a strong player in the NFL for the next 10-12 years.
