Today marks the first time the New York Giants are allowed to put on their pads. And while this won't be a fully padded practice -- those will start Sunday after tomorrow's off day -- they will be donning their shells for the first time this year.
The coaches and fans in attendance have to be excited for the practices to start looking more like real football, and the players are too:
Beason said he expects today's padded practice to be "eye-opening" for those who doubt the LBs.

After three practices the Giants are still looking for somebody to step forward and claim the starting jobs at tight end and right guard.
They're also looking for young players like Devon Kennard, Andre Williams, and DaMontre Moore to keep impressing.
Once again, go ahead and use this as your open thread to discuss practice. Practice is scheduled to run from 1:20 to 3:30, and we'll be providing an after-action wrap up after the the action wraps up.
