Giants' Roster Breakdown: Ross Weaver, CB

Can Ross Weaver crack the Giants' final 53-man roster?

Andrew Weber-US PRESSWIRE

Football season is nearing ever closer as the New York Giants prepare for the team's training camp in less than a week. Today, Big Blue View continues its look at the team's 90-man roster with cornerback Ross Weaver.

2013 Season In Review

It's been an up-and-down journey for Weaver throughout his NFL career. The 27-year old has been involved in 10 transactions since going undrafted in 2010, has played for five NFL teams and the Arena Football League's Jacksonville Sharks. Last season, the Giants signed Weaver to their practice squad on Nov. 27 and to a future contract on Dec. 30. He has yet to play a down in the NFL.

2014 Season Outlook

Weaver is looking to crack the Giants roster at the team's most deep position. Even if the Giants elected to go with seven corners on the final 53-man roster, Weaver still would most likely come up short. Despite this, Weaver has looked good throughout the offseason and could use the preseason as an audition for one of the 31 other teams. If he doesn't find a home elsewhere, he could wind up on the Giants practice squad for a second year.
