Big Blue View continues its look at the 90-man roster the New York Giants will take to training camp on July 21. Today, let's get to know wideout Julian Talley.
2013 Season In Review
Talley was cut by the Giants following the team's 2012 training camp and eventually landed with the Arena Football League's Pittsburgh Power. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound UMass alum recorded 74 receptions for 821 yards and 17 touchdowns during the season and earned an invite to the Giants' training camp again for 2013.
After an impressive camp, Talley once again failed to make New York's final 53-man roster, but the Giants did sign him to their practice squad. He was activated to the team's 53-man roster for the final two games of the season.
2014 Season In Outlook
It'll be another up-hill climb for Talley as he finds himself on the bottom of the depth chart with big-name players in front of him. Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham Jr., Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan are all locks to make the final 53-man roster. Trindon Holliday has immense value on special teams and has shown coaches throughout OTAs he might be able to contribute at wide receiver, too. Marcus Harris has flashed throughout the team's offseason conditioning program and Mario Manningham was brought back as a free agent.
Talley may not make the team's active roster for game one barring injuries, but he could be a candidate for the practice squad again.
