In case you were wondering, former New York Giants safety Will Hill passed through waivers unclaimed on Tuesday and is now a free agent. The Giants, according to the NFL transactions site, have filled Hill's roster spot by adding Kyle Sebetic, an undrafted free agent safety from Dayton.
The fact that Hill went unclaimed after three league-imposed suspensions in less than two calendar years can hardly be considered a surprise.
So, who is Sebetic? He is a 6-foot, 194-pound defensive back who was named all-conference as a senior. He appears to have experience at both cornerback and free safety.
Sebetic reportedly was an invitee to the Chicago Bears rookie mini-camp, but was not offered a place on the roster at the conclusion of the mini-camp.
Dayton is an FCS school, so the NFL is a big step up for Sebetic. In 2012, Sebetic had three interceptions and 15 passes defensed. In 2013, he had one interception and 63 tackles in 11 games.
Adding Sebetic returns the Giants to a complete 90-man offseason roster.
