Giants' Roster Breakdown: Travis Howard, CB

Getting to know Giants' corner Travis Howard.

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants report to training camp July 21, less than a month from now. Between now and then, we have been breaking down the 90-man roster the team will bring to camp. Today, let's get to know cornerback Travis Howard.

2013 Season In Review

After going undrafted out of Ohio State, Howard spent time with the Houston Texans. The corner didn't see any regular season action but spent time on the team's practice squad. The Giants signed Howard to a reserve/futures contract in December.

2014 Season Outlook

Howard was one of the more durable corners during his time at Ohio State, starting in 23 of 43 games, and earned a reputation as a ball hawk. Howard intercepted six passes his junior season and four his senior year. Unfortunately for Howard, he plays the position the Giants are deepest at. He'll get his shot during preseason, but it will likely be more of an audition for others than a spot with Big Blue.
