Once David Diehl announced his retirement from the NFL you had to know it was only a matter of time before the personable, well-spoken former New York Giants offensive lineman became a full-fledged NFL analyst for one of the many media outlets covering the league. Well, that time has arrived.

Diehl has joined FOX Sports as an NFL on FOX game analyst.

"I'm thrilled for the opportunity to still be involved in the sport that I love so much and that has provided me so much in my life," said Diehl in a statement released by FOX. "FOX Sports has a tremendous team of talented analysts, and I'm excited to join them and add my knowledge and experiences to the mix."

Diehl was always one of the players in the locker room the media approached for opinions. As his 11-year career with the Giants wound down Diehl did a variety of media work, and always seemed informative and at ease in front of the cameras.
