Another quarterback is off the board in the 2014 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft. Selecting 20th overall for the Arizona Cardinals, 'jensvoigt' has taken Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr as an eventual successor to Carson Palmer.
'jensvoigt' explains:
Carr has the most arm talent of any quarterback in this draft, but questionable footwork leads to a lot off off-balance, off target throws under pressure. The quick-strike shotgun spread offense he ran in college appears to have stunted his growth in this area, though he has shown the ability to make all the throws from under center when given the opportunity. By all accounts a high character guy with football intelligence, I think spending a year working in a pro offense behind Carson Palmer puts him on the path to becoming a franchise guy instead of Blaine Gabbert (or David Carr) 2.0.

I guess I am a little surprised by this pick. I didn't expect a quarterback to be the choice here for the Cardinals, but the clock is ticking on Carson Palmer and if you think Carr is the guy to replace him then why not go for him here? If you believe the recent draft hype Carr might be off the board long before this pick in the real draft next month.
