The 2014 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft rolls along with 'jagyossarian' making the selection for the Chicago Bears at No. 14 in the first round. With that pick, safety Hasean Clinton-Dix goes to the Bears.
'jagyossarian' explains:
The Bears come into the new season with a number of holes along their defense. Losses along the defensive line have been somewhat addressed with the signings of Jarred Allen, Lamarr Houston, and Willie Young. Some players (such as former Giant Ryan Mundy) have been brought in to provide depth along the secondary, but they're still in desperate need of youth and talent at the safety and corner back spots.
A recently announced injury to Chris Conte leaves the Bears even thinner at the safety spot, forcing depth-reinforcement MD Jennings to be heavily featured. Enter Clinton-Dix, a well-rounded safety that can play over the deep middle, cover tight ends, and provide sure tacking from the safety spot. His playmaking ability also complements the Bears' existing CB duo of Tillman and Jennings. Clinton-Dix will be an immediate contributor and should shore up the safety position for the Bears for years to come.

Can't kick about this pick. It's the range where most analysts seem to expect Clinton-Dix to be selected and when you factor in the idea that the Bears signed ex-Giant Ryan Mundy and immediately plugged him in as a starter you know they have a need at the safety position.
