Let's get the second round of the 2014 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft underway. We will do this round a little differently. Rather than a single post for each selection, the picks will be gathered and posted in bunches. We begin with the  first three picks of Round 2.

33. Houston Texans -- A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama

Our GM for the Texans is once again '56 4life.' He explains: "I know that this pick will seem like a shocker to a lot of people, but don't get too flustered yet. I looked over the Texans roster and saw that they had a pretty solid team, and by adding Clowney with my first pick I believe the defense has the potential to be dominant. The only thing they really need is a quarterback now, so I took the guy who has the track record of being a winner. Sure he was surrounded by great talent at Bama, but he also showed the ability to make some excellent throws and most importantly, win games. Pairing McCarron up with new head coach Bill O'Brien is a match made in heaven. O'Brien excels at developing QBs, and if he squeezes the best out of McCarron, the Texans are immediately a contender once again."

Round 1

34. Washington Redskins -- Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

Our man 'Raptor22' stepped in to play GM here as our original general manager for this pick had to bow out due to a family tragedy.

'Raptor' explains his pick this way: "The Redskins have needs on offense, but they have a greater need on defense. Here the blend of need and value are tremendous. While [offensive tackle] Joel Bitonio would be a good pick here, Calvin Pryor is a legitimate first-round talent, and gives their secondary a much needed shot in the arm. Pryor is a prototypical safety, who has range and fluidity in coverage, hits hard, and can see the whole field. He has drawn comparisons to Antrel Rolle, and his blend of athleticism, physicality, and ball skills back that up. Getting that at any point in the second round is too good to pass up, and Pryor would instantly become the best safety on the team."

35. Cleveland Browns -- Jimmy Garappolo, QB, Eastern Illinois

'BrooklynNets8' is the GM for the Browns in the second round -- the third Cleveland GM of our draft. He explains the pick this way: "At No. 5, Cleveland selected wide receiver Mike Evans, and at No. 26, they selected offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio. I went with Eastern Illinois quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo at No. 35 for the Browns. Quarterback always seems to be a need for the Browns, this is an opportunity for them to get their franchise guy. Garoppolo at No. 35 seems to be decent value, and should be about where he gets selected."
