With the 28th overall pick in our 2014 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft the Carolina Panthers, with 'Turn and Coughlin' in the role of GM, have selected Virginia offensive tackle Morgan Moses.

'Turn and Coughlin' explains:
Everybody knows the Panthers have a glaring need at wide receiver - they've lost a lot of talent at the position and are without a clear No. 1 receiving option. Less talked about, however, is their dire need for a starting tackle. That need is at least as serious - and I would argue more serious - than their need at the wide receiver position. They lost stalwart starting left tackle Jordan Gross to retirement, and really have nobody who can come close to filling those shoes.
I went for an offensive tackle rather than a wide receiver here based on draft depth. I feel that the drop off from Moses to the tackles potentially available to them at the bottom of the second round (guys like JuWuan James, Billy Turner, and Jack Mewhort) is much more significant than the drop off to the group of receivers that could potentially be available to them at that spot (a group that could include guys like Davante Adams, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson, Martavis Bryant, Donte Moncrief, and Jarvis Landry).
With Moses, the Panthers get an immediate plug-and-play starter, which is something they desperately need. He has been rising up draft boards in recent weeks and is beginning to be more frequently mocked in the first round. In light of the value teams have placed on offensive linemen in the draft in recent years, I would not be surprised to see him go at this spot or even higher in May.
