NFL teams can't negotiate with free agents under contract to other teams until Saturday, and can't sign free agents until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. There is still, however, plenty of news being made that could impact the New York Giants. Let's catch up on some of the free-agent headlines. for Friday.

St, Louis Rams offensive lineman Rodger Saffold, who has experience at every position except center, will "definitely" hit the open market.

This may not directly impact the Giants, but the Atlanta Falcons are reportedly asking former Giants' defensive end Osi Umenyiora to take a pay cut. Memo to Justin Tuck: Pay attention to this -- the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Seattle Seahawks' defensive end Michael Bennett will test the free-agent market. He may end up the subject of a bidding war between the Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.

The Indianapolis Colts and cornerback Vontae Davis, who might look nice opposite Prince Amukamara, "are not close to a deal."
