Good morning, New York Giants' fans! Here are your Thursday morning headlines.
Free agency begins in a few days. It is exciting, Monday Morning Quarterback's Andy Benoit cautions that there are risks involved with every player who hits free agency. As Benoit writes " The last thing a team wants is to invest draft picks, coaching hours, practice reps and game time in a player only to see him prosper elsewhere. A player the team thinks can truly prosper isn’t allowed to go elsewhere."
The Jacksonville Jaguars recently released guard Uche Nwaneri, a starter for the past six seasons. Adam Caplan reports that two or three teams are already interested in the durable soon-to-be 30-year-old. No word on whether the Giants are among them.
Shutdown Corner breaks down the free agent wide receiver market.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports says the player the Giants should target in free agency is Kansas City Chiefs guard Jon Asamoah. In our ongoing poll asking which guard the Giants should pursue in free agency, Asamoah has 39 percent of the vote. His Kansas City teammate, Geoff Schwartz, has 41 percent. You still have time to vote.
Linebacker Chris Borland and wide receiver Jared Abbrederis, two players who could be on the Giants' radar in the 2014 NFL Draft, were impressive Wednesday at the Wisconsin pro day.
