The Philadelphia Eagles today made the stunning decision to release talented wide receiver DeSean Jackson, with rumors of alleged gang connections possibly part of the reason. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, suitors for Jackson are already lining up, with at least six teams already in contact with Jackson's representatives,
Would the New York Giants be one of those? Sure, they could use a wide receiver with Hakeem Nicks gone, but DJax as a Giants seems like a remote -- at best -- possibility. Maybe he ends up playing home games at MetLife Stadium as a member of the New York Jets but this does not seem like a move the Giants would make.
I think Jordan Ranaan of NJ.com has it exactly right here in this tweet:
Re: DeSean Jackson; Just think, how bad must it be that the #eagles were willing to flat-out CUT him? Off best yr of career, no less.

Jackson is an electrifying 27-year-old star who has scared Giants' fans to death for years -- and on one well-known occasion absolutely crushed them. He is a three-time Pro Bowler had had career highs in receptions (82) and receiving yards (1,332) last season.
Schefter released a statement from Jackson on his Facebook page, which included Jackson calling allegations that he is involved with gangs "reckless and irresponsible."
Go ahead and discuss it, Giants' fans.
