New York Giants' coach Tom Coughlin spoke to the media Wednesday morning at the NFL owner's meetings, with comments running the gamut from the team's activity in free agency to whether or not he deserves consideration for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Big Blue View is not attending the meetings, but Twitter is. Twitter is everywhere, and thanks to the wonders of Twitter and the beat reporters who were there we can bring you much of what Coughlin said. So, let's do that.
Coughlin on Giants’ turnover: "Necessary. Just look at the nature of our team and the number of free agents we had. Had to do something,"

Coughlin: "We’re going to miss Justin Tuck, period. Played very well. The last number [offer from the Raiders] was too difficult to match."

Coughlin says the NFL told him John Jerry won’t be suspended over Bullygate. Interesting, in light of what Goodell said the other day.

Coughlin says more they watched Rashad Jennings, more they liked. Noted 'all-purpose player' and he's very good at screens #giants
— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) March 26, 2014
More Coughlin on Hakeem Nicks: "Maybe this is something that had to take place. We wish him nothing but the best."
— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 26, 2014
Coughlin on David Wilson: "He’s making outstanding progress. Every time I see him, I have to say ‘Slow down, do what they tell you to do.'"
— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 26, 2014
Coughlin: 'I'm planning that [david wilson] is there until they tell me different.' Said it may just be in different capacity. #giants
— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) March 26, 2014
Coughlin: "Offensively, we need to get back to Giant football — big human beings moving guys in the NFC East. We weren’t very big up front."
— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 26, 2014
Coughlin on if he will retire soon: "Why? What am I going to do? My wife’s already told me, ‘You’re not hanging around here!’"
— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 26, 2014
Coughlin says new #NYG CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will be used to shadow opposition's No. 1 receiver.

— Bart Hubbuch (@HubbuchNYP) March 26, 2014
Coughlin on Ryan Nassib: "I think he’s going to be a good player. This is going to be an important year for him and for the Giants."

Whoa! There is a ton there to react to, and we will try to do some of that as we move forward. For now, though, I just wanted to bring you the meat of Coughlin's remarks. Have at 'em!
