The New York Giants can always use more wide receivers. Jarvis Landry is one such prospect that has been having a slow descent, while his running mate, Odell Beckham Jr., has enjoyed a meteoric rise. His low point probably came at the combine where he ran a disappointing 4.77. I think that's a bit of an anomaly and we see a much better time during his pro day.
Let's take a look at Landry and explore why he might be falling, and if it's fair.
Pros
- Explosive. Has better acceleration than Beckham when coming off the snap. Can win instantly.
- Very sharp route runner. Can make very nice cuts.
- Natural hands catcher with a pretty decent catch radius.
- Very few drops. Will be a reliable possession receiver.
- Makes some really highlight worthy catches.
Cons
- Small, standing only 5-foot-11.
- Not overly physical, and if you can get your hands on him, you'll be able to jam him.
- Might be limited to the slot only in the pros.
- Straight line speed is an obvious question mark.
Does He Fit With The Giants?
Don't think so. I think Victor Cruz makes him redundant, as he does the same things that Landry does. Can Landry win outside? It's possible, but we don't have much evidence that he can win the same amount of contested balls that Odell Beckham can.
Landry is, however, the more explosive and smooth player of the two, and if you watch a highlight reel of him, you'll know what I mean when I say he's got some amazing stuff.

Final Thoughts
If the Giants didn't have Victor Cruz or Jerrel Jernigan, I'd be screaming for Jarvis Landry in the third round. I think he's a very talented player with hands as good as Mohamed Sanu's were when he came out. Very, very sure handed slot guy that can kill you with YAC.
It'll be interesting to see where he goes, some team like the 49ers or Broncos could get a steal at the end of Round 2 with a player like this. His explosiveness is uncommon.
