Sometimes it seems like Steve Tisch is "that other guy who owns the New York Giants." Tisch's quotes seem to pop up more often in TMZ than in football publications, while John Mara answers the serious football questions. Tisch, though, is at the NFL owner's meetings and had some interesting things to say about the Giants and free agency.
To tell the story, we're going to more or less hijack the Twitter feed of Jonathan Clegg of the Wall Street Journal (@CleggJon) for a couple of minutes. Here is Clegg's stream of tweets from his conversation Monday with Tisch.
Speaking at NFL owners meetings, #NYG co-owner Steve Tisch says Giants "have taken a really strong step forward with free-agency signings."

Tisch said #NYG have splashed out in FA because "when the season ended, we knew, as John [Mara] pointed out, we were a little broken."

Tisch says #NYG approach in FA was to seek out value rather than focus on big names. Says Jerry Reese "is always looking for value."

Tisch on Jerry Reese: "He has a great eye for matching free agents, their talent and the needs of the New York Giants." #NYG

Tisch says he expects #NYG to be an immediate contender after FA signings. "That’s my wish for sure."

Steve Tisch on @JustinTuck : "I wish him all the best in Oakland, I think he’s going to be a major positive force on that team." #NYG
